Leg Day Dating App: How DateFit Compares
If you searched for a "leg day dating app", you were most likely looking for Leg Day, an app whose App Store listing calls it "Real-time gym introductions". This page sets out what that listing says Leg Day does, in its own words, and then what DateFit does, so you can decide which approach suits you. They are built differently, and plenty of people who train could reasonably use both.
Full disclosure up front: we make DateFit, and this blog is ours. So we are not going to review Leg Day or tell you what it is like to use. Everything we say about it below comes from its own App Store listing, as we read it in September 2026. Apps change, so check the listing itself for the current version.
What Leg Day says it does
According to its App Store listing (as of September 2026), the app is called "Leg Day - Meet At Your Gym", it is free, and it is rated 18+.
The listing describes an app built around being in the same place at the same time. In its own words:
- It is tied to your gym. "Leg Day activates when you walk into your gym, letting you confirm mutual interest in real time."
- It works only while you are there. "Leg Day works exclusively while you're at the gym. You'll only see members who are there with you."
- Interest stays hidden until it is mutual. "Information remains hidden until both members express interest."
- You control your visibility. "Decide when you're visible. Choose who sees you and who doesn't."
- What happens next is up to you. "Say hey in person, or connect later."
- It leaves out the usual app mechanics. "No messaging. No bios. No swiping."
The listing sums up its aim as "A simple way to meet who you want at your gym, without interrupting why you're there."
What DateFit does
DateFit is a dating app for the fitness community. It takes a different approach: instead of working in the room you are standing in, it gives you profiles you can browse whenever you like, wherever you trained today.
Here is the mechanic, with nothing embellished.
- Everyone on it signed up to a fitness dating app on purpose. So "do you train?" is not the question you are stuck asking on date three.
- Profiles have bios and photos. Your bio, your fitness goals and your photos are the parts of your profile other people actually read before they swipe, and theirs are what you read. That is where your training, your schedule and your sense of humour go, in your own words.
- You swipe, and a match needs two yeses. A like and a pass both count as a swipe. When two people both like each other, that is a match.
- You can message a match. Messaging someone you have matched with is free, so the conversation can start before you ever meet.
- You set the ordinary preferences. Who you want to see, an age range and a distance, so the people you come across are people you could plausibly meet. Your profile also shows whether you are looking to date, make friends, or both.
Anything you want people to know about your training belongs in your bio and fitness goals, because those are what people read on your profile.
Two different approaches, side by side
Taking each app at its own description:
- When it works. Leg Day's listing says it "works exclusively while you're at the gym". DateFit works whenever you open it, whether that is before a session, after one, or on a rest day.
- Who you see. Leg Day's listing says "You'll only see members who are there with you." On DateFit you see people who match the preferences you set, including a distance you choose, not only the people in your gym at that moment.
- What you learn about someone first. Leg Day's listing says "No bios." On DateFit, a bio, fitness goals and photos are the heart of a profile.
- How you talk. Leg Day's listing says "No messaging" and suggests you "Say hey in person, or connect later." On DateFit you can message a match in the app.
- How you signal interest. Leg Day's listing says "No swiping" and that information "remains hidden until both members express interest." On DateFit you swipe, and a match only happens when both people like each other.
Neither of those is the right answer for everyone. If what you want is a way to act on the person you keep noticing at your own gym, an in-gym approach is built for exactly that moment. If you would rather get to know someone through their profile and a conversation first, and meet people who train at other gyms too, that is what DateFit is built for.
Can you use both?
Yes. There is nothing stopping you, and the two cover different situations. One is built around the gym you are standing in; the other is built around a profile you can browse, and be found by, any time.
Whatever you use, the ordinary gym manners still apply. Mid-set, with headphones in, is not the moment. If you want the detailed version, how to approach someone at the gym covers it, and our guide on whether you should date someone from your gym covers the upside and the Monday-morning risk.
Is DateFit free?
Yes, and the specifics matter more than the word.
You can download DateFit, build a profile, swipe and match without paying, and messaging someone you have matched with is free. Free accounts get a daily swipe allowance, and verifying your email raises it. A like and a pass both count as a swipe, so that is your real daily budget either way.
DateFit Premium removes the swipe limit and shows you exactly who has already liked you, rather than just that someone has.
We are not going to promise you a number of matches. A match needs two people to both say yes, so nobody can honestly guarantee a figure.
Building a profile that works if you train
- Say how you train in plain words. In your bio or fitness goals. "Four lifting sessions a week, and yes, I do train legs" tells someone more than any photo.
- Say when you train. If you are at the gym at 6 a.m. on weekdays, say so. The right person will plan around it.
- Pick photos that look like your life. One gym photo says this is part of my week. Five says the conversation will only ever be about one subject.
- Put something in that is not training. Even people who never skip leg day want to know what else is in there.
- Say what you are looking for. Dating, friends, or both. It saves everyone time.

Ready to meet someone who trains
We built DateFit because "do you train?" should not be something you find out on date three. On DateFit everyone is there because fitness matters to them, so you can skip explaining the early alarm and start finding the person who gets it.
Download DateFit, write how you train into your bio, and go from there. It is free to download and free to match.
Leg Day is a trademark of its owner. DateFit is an independent fitness dating app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Leg Day. The details about Leg Day on this page come from its App Store listing (apps.apple.com, read September 2026).
